Oecos manufactures and sells insect trapping devices based on the use of insect attractants and other insect behaviour modifying materials - collectively known as semiochemicals. These traps and other related products are used in field agricultural, horticultural (vegetables and fruit) and protective cropping.

Oecos was established in 1977 to commercialise the monitoring system developed at Rothamsted Experimental Station for the pea moth (cydia nigricana). This development had taken some three years to complete and was one of the first to give predictive pest thresholds from trap catches. The Oecos pea moth monitoring system remains one of the most reliable systems for use in any crop
